The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has awarded Raise DC a $250,000 grant to bolster the continuation of Graduation Pathways Project work. Graduation Pathways is one of Raise DC’s five major projects, and this support will further engage cross-sector partners to improve school practices, advance policies that accelerate these practices, and coordinate planning efforts for better allocation of resources.
The grant includes work to support school success in three areas:
- Improving student transitions to ninth grade
- Implementing flexible pathways to graduation, based on identifying local schools that are “beating the odds”
- Expanding the city’s overall supply of schools to better serve “off-track” students
Education activities are one of the Hewlett Foundation’s core funding areas. For more information on the Hewlett Foundation, visit: www.hewlett.org.
