For Love of Children

Originally founded as a broad social services agency, by the year 2000, For Love of Children (FLOC) had established its niche in education services.  The organization primarily serves low income and first generation college students, each year tutoring 300 below-grade-level elementary level students through the Neighborhood Tutoring Program, as well as 170 students beginning in middle school through the Scholars Program.

FLOC recently piloted a program with high school seniors that provided an academic coach to each student on their way to post-secondary success.  These coaches guide students through the application process, directing them towards specific institutions and scholarships.  Students in the program reached 100% graduation and post-secondary acceptance rates.

FLOC has been a key member in C3N from the start. The organization uses C3N meetings as a means to connect with other high quality providers, and ensure student access to the best possible services. FLOC looks forward to increased data sharing and expects the initiative to grow in the coming years.
